Arizona Teachers Fight For What They Believe In

Rafael Campos works at Flag Word & Sports and he is concerned about teachers in Arizona. This is why I decided to create a story on the teachers in Arizona and what they are fighting for. This story will be about the six-day walkout of the state’s public school teachers. Not only are their wages low, but the teachers are working long and hard. The buildings are crumbling and the turnover rate is high. Class sizes are huge and a lot of teachers to handle. A recent reports says that Arizona are still among the lowest paid in the country. My intended audience will be teachers in Arizona and those affected by the walkout. It will answer the questions of why they walked out and what they are continuing to do in order to fight for higher wages and better working conditions. “it is concerning that a lot of the Arizona teachers are heading out of state to other states where it is better pay to be a teacher” said Rafael Campos. This is a good point. I also want to mention in my story what will happen if the wages never go up. Will we even have teachers left if they all leave? I would start off my asking teacher in the community how they feel and to tell me a little bit about their story. I think a video would be the most effective in this story to see how passionate the teachers are when they talk about why they are walking out and the changes they want to see.
